This year at D23, the news has been plentiful, the Sunday panel which included John Blackburn & John Vignocchi. So let’s dig in to it…

First of, the news every Disney Original fan has been waiting for – who are those 3 new Disney characters that are coming to Disney Infinity 3.0?

Three Mystery Figures

We now have confirmation that the three characters are:

  • Spot (The Good Dinosaur)
  • Judy (Zootopia)
  • Nick (Zootopia)

Here is a close up of Spot from the Good Dinosaur.

The release dates for these three characters have not yet been confirmed, Spot is said to be released November 2015 and Judy & Nick from Zootopia will probably be released around a similar time as the film.

The Good Dinosaur will also be getting a Power Disc pack, however more details will be shared in the future.

Star Wars Collector’s Line Announced

The panel also announced that Star Wars would have a collector’s line which will be called the ‘Light FX Series’ as each character within this line will have a lightsaber which lights up when you place the figure on the base. Currently this line up includes:

  • Luke Skywalker
  • Anakin Skywalker
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Yoda
  • Darth Vader
  • Kanan Jarrus

With regards to the light FX series release dates, we assume these will be released before Christmas, as they said in the panel that they would make good holiday gifts.

And this is the official statement from Disney Interactive:

A new set of limited edition Light FX Star Wars™ character figures were unveiled. Available this holiday, these figures have Lightsabers™ that light up when placed onto the Disney Infinity Base.  Figures include Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader from the Star Wars™ Rise Against the Empire Play Set, as well as Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars™ Twilight of the Republic Play Set and Kanan Jarrus from Star Wars™ Rebels.

First Star Wars: The Force Awakens announcement

Actor John Boyega and Actress Daisy Ridley, who play Finn & Rey in the up and coming Star Wars: Episode VII jumped on stage to reveal their Disney Infinity figures which are based on their characters.

As part of this years D23 the Toy Box Artist were given the option to choose one Disney character from the infamous whiteboard. They chose Peter Pan and so he will be joining us in Disney Infinity in 2016, approximately one year from now.

Today, we revealed that the character is Peter Pan and this character will be released approximately one year from now as the “Toy Box Artists Choice.”

Disney Infinity revealed the ultimate unlock

This years ultimate unlock, which is available once you have collected all the Disney Infinity 3.0 characters is *drum roll* Sora’s Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts. I think this will have some love and a lot of hate as well, as you can’t please everyone!

D23 Limited Edition King Mickey Power Disc

Interestingly, Disney Infinity also released a limited edition (only available at D23) Power Disc which transforms Mickey in-game to his Kingdom Hearts outfit. Unfortunately, if you want this you either need to have been at D23, have a very kind friend who was at D23 or be rich and purchase from the likes of eBay.

Marvel Battlegrounds coming in 2016

There was a very limited amount of time given for Marvel, however what we did find out was that the Marvel Play Set will be called “Marvel Battlegrounds” and it will be released in Spring 2016 and will feature all Marvel characters and include 4 player co-op mode. You can read more about this here.
