It’s 3 days before New Years Eve, for Disney Infinity fans across the world this year has been very exciting! Since the launch of Disney Infinity on 18th August 2013 we have seen many releases and surprises, some good and some bad. Such as, the limited amount of Playsets being released this year after the initial 4 (Pirates of the Caribbean, Cars, Monsters University & The Incredibles) we got The Lone Ranger playset shortly afterwards and more excitingly was the Toy Story in Space Playset. However, apart from this we have seen the announcement and launch of several Disney IPs including Wreck it Ralph, Frozen and The Nightmare Before Christmas, none of which have seen a Playset release and instead have been for the Toy Box only. Looking at more positive launches, we have seen fantastic triple packs being announced or launched, including the Disney Infinity Girls Triple Pack which looks fantastic and the Disney Infinity Crystal Character series which for Disney Infinity collectors is definitely a must have! So, I am sure you will agree we have had an exciting year, but what is coming next year…what does 2014 hold for Disney Infinity? Well, let’s take a look!
Disney Infinity in 2014…
Disney are definitely the type of company to keep any major launches or announcements closely sealed until they feel necessary, however there are a couple of things that will be happening in 2014 that we know for sure, so check them out below!
Disney Infinity get’s it’s own magazine!
Disney recently announced that they will be launching their very own Disney Infinity magazine, through publishing house Egmont. This monthly magazine which will cover the in’s and out’s of Disney Infinity will be launching their first issue in February 2014 for £3.99.
Disney see the magazine as an extension of the games brand and feel that moving in to print will be a key part of Disney’s strategy to get boys reading.
The Disney Infinity magazine will cover story-driven adventures, which is said to be perfect for fans looking for ways of becoming experts in Disney Infinity whilst extending their enjoyment of the game and their Disney Infinity collection.
Be sure to look out for the first issue of the ‘Disney Infinity magazine’ in February 2014.
Disney Infinity Character Releases
The last of the initial Disney Infinity character’s should be right around the corner, but don’t fret with Disney’s never-ending catalogue of IPs and potential Playsets and Characters I am sure we will have a fresh bunch of Disney Infinity characters coming very soon. But for now, let’s check out what Disney Infinity characters we are still waiting for across the world!
Disney Infinity Phineas & Ferb
We have heard that Gamestop will be having a timed exclusive sale on the Phineas & Ferb Toy Box set which you will be able to purchase early from March 14th until 1st April 2014.

Interestingly, the Disney Infinity Wreck-It Ralph Toy Box Set will be launched at the same time as Phineas & Ferb, on the 1st April 2014 you will be able to purchase both Phineas & Ferb & Wreck-It Ralph toy box sets! Which will you purchase we wonder…?
However, we have seen that Toys R Us have the Wreck-It Ralph Toy Box Set available to preorder for an estimated shipping date of the 11th March 2014 so we believe you may be able to purchase it at Toys R Us earlier than other retailers.
