Character History: Darth Vader first appeared as the main villain in Star Wars: A New Hope. He then went on to appear in The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi. The three prequel stories star him as Anakin Skywalker and show his transformation from young boy to Jedi Knight to Sith Lord.
Once known as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader is now the right-hand man and enforcer for Emperor Palpatine. In addition to being a master at lightsaber combat he is also the best combat pilot in the galaxy, and is feared by everyone he meets. He is more than willing to use his mastery of the force to punish those who fail him in painful, and sometimes fatal, ways.
He commands through intimidation and fear, and in the movies has only been shown to bow to the authority of the Emperor and Grand Moff Tarkin, whom he served with during the Clone Wars while Vader was still known as Anakin Skywalker. The bounty hunter Boba Fett has also earned his respect, but that appears to be the limit of his trust.
Vader is a close range fighter who uses strong, slow lightsaber strikes to obliterate his enemies. He does have the ability to throw his lightsaber at enemies for a ranged attack, but he cannot move while the lightsaber is in the air, which makes him vulnerable.
He can use a force pull ability to bring enemies in closer to his deadly lightsaber attacks. Additionally if he pulls off a lightsaber combo attack he can utilize a force choke to take out a single enemy. If he finds himself surrounded in combat his special attack will do area of effect damage around him to all enemies. With some upgrades this can also be charged up to do more damage over a larger area at the cost of more special move charges.
